Maras – Moray and Salineras
We will initiate the journey at approximately 8:30 am, with our meeting point being at the plaza central of Cusco. On our tour bus we will travel towards the Valley of Urubamba, during the journey we will be able to observe the magnificent snow mountain of Chicón.
Our first location to visit will be the picturesque village of Maras, which are platforms which have been formed by hundreds of white pools, which at a distance are observed as if it were snow. In the colonial era, it became the first center which produced salt in the entirety of the mountain ranges of Southern America. They were utilized during thousands of years, inclusively much after the Inca Empire.
We will return to the city of Cusco at approximately 14:30 hrs.

RECOMENDATIONS
To visit the salt mines of Maras, take advantage of your visit to also see the circular platforms of Moray, which is located only 10 kilometers away. All tours to Maras also include Moray.
You can also take the opportunity to visit the famous town of Maras, which was an important town during the colony. Today, it offers beautiful landscapes and a lot of tradition and customs on the part of its inhabitants.
Currently it is not allowed to visit the salt pools. It is only allowed to appreciate the salt mines of Maras from a nearby viewpoint.
