The second day of hiking will begin after a comforting breakfast. Next, the hike will begin with a constant ascent for approximately 3 and a half hours to Marampata (2,900 meters above sea level / 9,514 feet), where we will enjoy lunch accompanied by stunning views of the Apurímac Canyon.
In the afternoon, we will continue with a gentle hike until we reach the enigmatic citadel of Choquequirao. Unlike other more crowded archeological destinations, this impressive Inca complex retains an authentic and tranquil atmosphere, allowing for a much more special connection with history and nature.
Together with the guide, the most important sectors of the archeological site will be explored, including ceremonial plazas, religious enclosures, agricultural terraces, and the famous llama sector, where enormous figures were depicted in stone on the mountain terraces, becoming one of the most emblematic symbols of Choquequirao.
After the tour, we will return to Marampata, our campsite for the night.
