TOUR TO SALINAS NATIONAL RESERVE AND SALINAS LAGOON

Our adventure to the Salinas National Reserve begins very early with pickup from your hotel in Arequipa. After a short drive along high Andean roads, we’ll enter the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, where we’ll observe the impressive Salinas salt desert. This landscape evokes the magic of the Uyuni Salt Flats and promises amazement at every step.

We’ll walk through this surreal landscape, surrounded by mountains and volcanoes, where, at certain times of year, magical water mirrors form, reflecting the sky and creating a unique visual effect ideal for capturing unforgettable photos.

After enjoying this natural environment, we’ll continue to the picturesque town of Tambos de Sal, where we’ll learn about the traditional artisanal salt extraction. A tradition that reveals the deep connection of communities with their environment throughout the centuries, and that is passed down from generation to generation.

Afterward, we’ll head to the Lojen mini-volcano, where we’ll have the option to relax in its natural hot springs. The steam and silence of the volcanic environment invite relaxation; this is the perfect moment to immerse yourself and be enveloped by the peace of Andean nature.

At the end of the visit, we’ll board our vehicle for the return to Arequipa. Along the way, we’ll stop for a typical lunch (not included) before continuing to the city. In the afternoon, the town welcomes us back with fresh memories of stunning landscapes, living traditions, and experiences that will be etched in our memory.
