Itinerary
Discover what awaits you in the TAMBOPATA ADVENTURE TOUR – 4 DAYS
day 1
PUERTO MALDONADO - PUERTO CAPITANÍA - COCHA CAIMÁN
Upon your arrival in Puerto Maldonado, capital of biodiversity, our team will welcome you at the airport to begin this adventure through the Tambopata jungle. We start with a panoramic tour of the city before heading to Puerto Capitanía, where we will board a boat to navigate the Madre de Dios River towards our ecological lodge.
During the journey, we will observe local plantations and a lush tropical jungle that announces our entrance to the heart of Tambopata. Upon arrival at the lodge, we will receive a warm welcome and enjoy a lunch with Amazonian ingredients.
In the afternoon, we will begin a walk to Cocha Caimán, a natural lagoon surrounded by lush vegetation, habitat of the black caiman and the white caiman. Cocha Caimán is perfect for observing aquatic birds, enjoying a magical sunset, and connecting with the living essence of Tambopata.
As night falls, we return to the lodge to taste a typical dinner and rest among the natural sounds of the jungle. Sleeping in the heart of the jungle will be an unforgettable experience that summarizes the tranquility and beauty of the Amazon.
day 2
day 3
BUNGALOWS - APU VÍCTOR LAKE - MONKEY ISLAND
After a nutritious breakfast, we begin a hike to Apu Víctor Lake, one of Tambopata’s natural jewels. During the route we cross various ecosystems—riverside and swampy forests—where you can appreciate species of ancient trees, orchids, and tropical birds.
Upon reaching Apu Víctor Lake, we will climb an observation platform to contemplate this spectacular water mirror surrounded by palm trees and aguaje palm groves. In Apu Víctor Lake, you can observe turtles, caimans, giant otters, migratory fish, and a great variety of birds. Its tranquility makes it one of the most impressive places in Tambopata.
After this visit, we return to the lodge to enjoy a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, we will embark towards Monkey Island, a natural reserve where several species of primates inhabit, such as the spider monkey, titi monkey, tamarin, and capuchin. Monkey Island is the ideal place to see these charismatic animals up close, learn about their behavior, and take unique photographs.
As the sun sets over Monkey Island, we will experience an unforgettable Amazonian sunset before returning to the lodge. At night, we will enjoy dinner and share adventure stories lived at Apu Víctor Lake, at Cocha Caimán, and at Monkey Island.
day 4
BUNGALOWS - COCHA PERDIDA
At dawn, the jungle awakens with a natural concert of birds. After breakfast, we depart towards Cocha Perdida, one of Tambopata’s most important ecosystems. During the walk we will cross suspension bridges and trails surrounded by medicinal, fruit, and timber trees.
Cocha Perdida offers us a dreamlike landscape where we can observe birds, caimans and, with luck, the imposing giant otter. From its viewpoint you can appreciate a natural environment similar to Apu Víctor Lake, with aguaje palm groves and swamps full of life.
Back at the lodge, we enjoy lunch and will have time to visit the botanical garden, rest, or take photographs. At night, a dinner accompanied by the sound of the jungle bids us farewell from this magical environment, where Cocha Caimán, Apu Víctor Lake, and Monkey Island represent the essence of Tambopata.
day 5
BUNGALOWS - PUERTO MALDONADO
We start the day with a nutritious breakfast in the lodge’s dining room; then, we navigate again along the Madre de Dios River towards Puerto Maldonado. We say goodbye to the jungle carrying in our memory the landscapes of Apu Víctor Lake, the serenity of Cocha Caimán, and the joy experienced at Monkey Island.
Every corner of Tambopata reminds us of the immensity and beauty of the Amazon, a place that always invites you to return.
