Itinerary
Discover what awaits you in the TAMBOPATA PARADISE TOUR – 5 DAYS
day 1
PUERTO MALDONADO - BUNGALOWS - COCHA CAIMÁN
Upon arriving in Puerto Maldonado, the vibrant capital of Peruvian biodiversity, our team will welcome you at the airport and invite you to immerse yourself in an unforgettable adventure in the Tambopata jungle. We will begin with a panoramic tour of the city and then embark on a river journey to our lodge, navigating the waters of the imposing Madre de Dios River.
Along the way, the jungle unfolds before us with vibrant landscapes, exotic fauna, and communities that live in perfect harmony with nature. Upon arrival at the lodge, a juice of local fruits welcomes us and refreshes our spirit; then, an Amazonian lunch that delights the senses.
In the afternoon, our guide will take us to discover the wonderful Cocha Caimán, a water mirror wrapped in lush vegetation, where the black caiman and white caiman inhabit. At Cocha Caimán, we will witness wildlife at sunset, when birds return to their nests and the sun tints the water with golden sparkles.
The sound of the jungle and the calm of Cocha Caimán turn this first day into a magical experience. Upon returning to the lodge, an exquisite dinner and a night of rest await us, accompanied by the natural symphony of the jungle.
day 2
BUNGALOWS - APU VÍCTOR LAKE - MONKEY ISLAND
After an energetic breakfast, we venture into the heart of the jungle towards Apu Víctor Lake, one of Tambopata’s most emblematic ecosystems. Along the trail to Apu Víctor Lake, we will discover giant trees and medicinal plants and hear the song of exotic birds.
Upon arrival, Apu Víctor Lake welcomes us with an observation platform that offers panoramic views of the landscape: aguaje palm groves, swamps, and a water mirror where caimans, turtles, and tropical fish swim. With luck, we will be able to observe the impressive giant otter, symbol of the Amazon rainforest.
After this experience, we return to the lodge for lunch and, in the afternoon, we visit the fascinating Monkey Island. This natural sanctuary is home to various species of primates, such as the spider monkey, titi monkey, capuchin, and tamarin. At Monkey Island, we can enjoy close encounters with the animals, capture unique photographs, and discover the secrets of their life in freedom.
Monkey Island is one of the most charming corners of Tambopata, perfect for experiencing an unforgettable sunset wrapped in natural sounds. Upon returning to the lodge, a delicious dinner and restorative rest await us.
day 3
BUNGALOWS - COCHA PERDIDA
At dawn, we enjoy breakfast accompanied by the song of tropical birds. Then, we embark on an ecological walk to the amazing Cocha Perdida, one of Tambopata’s richest ecosystems in biodiversity.
The route to Cocha Perdida crosses dense forests, suspension bridges, and watercourses and offers the opportunity to observe birds, monkeys, and ancient trees. From the observation platform at Cocha Perdida, we contemplate aguaje palm groves and swamps where life abounds in every corner.
Cocha Perdida embodies the wild spirit of Apu Víctor Lake and the serenity of Cocha Caimán, weaving a unique connection between these three scenarios of Amazonian life. Back at the lodge, a comforting lunch awaits us and, in the afternoon, free time to explore the botanical garden or to capture the beauty of the environment in photographs.
day 4
BUNGALOWS - GAMITANA OR BRIOLO RIVER
After breakfast, we navigate the Madre de Dios River to the Gamitana or Briolo River, where we will enjoy a day of pure nature. This river offers calm and crystalline waters, ideal for swimming or practicing artisanal fishing.
During the excursion, we will spot birds, butterflies and, with luck, some monkeys that arrive from nearby Monkey Island. Upon returning to the lodge, we will enjoy lunch and, in the afternoon, there will be free time to relax or to take one last walk around the surroundings, where we will bid farewell to the day with an unforgettable Amazonian sunset. These views remind us, once again, why Tambopata is an authentic natural paradise. At night, a farewell dinner brings us together and, if there is still energy, we can have a drink at the lodge bar.
day 5
BUNGALOWS - PUERTO MALDONADO
The last dawn in Tambopata bids us farewell with the song of the howler monkey and breakfast facing the jungle. After breakfast, we board and navigate back along the Madre de Dios River to Puerto Maldonado, carrying in our hearts the memories of Cocha Caimán, Apu Víctor Lake, and Monkey Island, three scenarios that summarize the magic, life, and spirit of the Peruvian Amazon.
