We will start our day by picking you up from your hotel at 6:30 a.m. to embark on a magical journey. Our first stop will be the charming town of Chinchero, where you can admire the impressive Inca walls and its historic colonial church. You’ll also enjoy a fascinating demonstration at an authentic textile center, learning about the ancient techniques still preserved today.
Next, we will head to the iconic circular terraces of Moray, a mysterious archaeological site that showcases the advanced agricultural knowledge of the Incas.
Our adventure continues to the stunning Maras Salt Mines, a natural spectacle featuring more than 3,000 salt ponds that have been in use since Inca times. The breathtaking landscapes will leave you in awe!
After exploring, we’ll enjoy a delicious buffet lunch in Urubamba, surrounded by the majestic mountains of the Sacred Valley.
In the afternoon, we will visit Ollantaytambo, known as “The Last Living Inca City.” Its cobblestone streets, temples, and terraces tell stories of love and resilience. RECOMENDATIONS
When to go to Machu Picchu?
- To plan the tour to Machu Picchu, first decide the season in which you will visit Cusco in Peru.
- There are 2 seasons in Cusco: the dry season (April to October) where there is not much rain and the rainy season (November to March) where fluvial rainfall is more frequent.
- Once you have decided on the date you want to visit the Wonder of the World, buy tickets to Machu Picchu in advance.
- Make the reservation of the Machu Picchu entrance with time in advance. So you can better plan tours, hotel reservations, trains, flights and more.
- If you are going to do the Inca Trail, book your tour 4, 5 or 6 months in advance. Otherwise you will not find availability.
- The entrance ticket to the Huayna Picchu mountain must also be purchased up to 3 months before.
- Remember to have your passport and identity document in order: check the expiration date.
