AUSANGATE 7 LAGOONS TREKKING ITINERARY - 1 DAY
The Ausangate 7 lagoons tour begins very early, when we pick you up at your hotel in Cusco to embark on an unforgettable journey to Pacchanta, an Andean community located at the foot of the majestic Ausangate, the highest sacred mountain in the Cusco region. After four hours of travel through breathtaking Andean landscapes, a typical, warm, and comforting breakfast awaits us in Pacchanta to begin our hike.
From here, we embark on a journey to the 7 lagoons of Ausangate, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, high Andean grasslands, and pristine air. Along the way, the beauty of the 7 turquoise lagoons of Ausangate opens before us: Otorongo Macho, Otorongo Hembra, Puca Cocha, Alqa Cocha, Ccomer Cocha, Azul Cocha, and Pata Cocha. Each lagoon displays shades ranging from deep blue to emerald green, reflecting the majesty of the snow-capped peak that protects them. During the tour, we’ll have time for photographs, contemplation, and to let ourselves be enveloped by a unique connection with nature.
After exploring this natural paradise, we begin the return to Pacchanta, a journey of approximately two hours, during which we watch for the silhouettes of vicuñas and alpacas among the unique flora of the puna. Upon arrival, an Andean lunch awaits us, a flavorful and comforting dish ideal for recharging our energy after the journey.
At the end of the day, you can immerse yourself in the thermal waters of Pacchanta, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and nature, or take the opportunity to stroll through the community to discover daily life there. Finally, we begin the return to Cusco, arriving at nightfall with our memories full of an experience that blends adventure, nature, and living culture.
