Our adventure begins early in Cusco as we depart for the town of San Pedro de Cachora, a journey that takes approximately 4 hours. We then continue to Capuliyoc, where we’ll enjoy our lunch with breathtaking views of the Apurímac Canyon and the snow-capped Padreyoc mountain.

The trek begins at Capuliyoc, descending along a marked trail for 3 to 4 hours until we reach Chiquisca, where we’ll have dinner and spend the night in a family-run lodge. The first day of the Choquequirao Trek offers us a preview of the spectacular landscapes that will accompany us along the way.

After breakfast, we descend for about 1 hour to the Apurímac River, crossing the bridge at Playa Rosalina. From this point, we begin the approximately 2-hour ascent to Santa Rosa, a challenging stretch due to the elevated terrain.

After a well-deserved rest, we continue ascending for about 2.5 more hours to Marampata, where we’ll enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll have free time to experience Andean rural life, including its traditional agriculture and Quechua customs. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at a local lodge with spectacular canyon views. Our second day combines adventure, nature, and the living culture of the Choquequirao Tour.
