Itinerary

Discover what awaits you in the COLCA CANYON TOUR – 2 DAYS

We begin the adventure at dawn, picking you up at your hotel in Arequipa to head to the imposing Colca Canyon, one of the deepest on the planet. Along the way, we’ll make strategic stops to admire breathtaking landscapes:

  • Pampa Cañahuas, within the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, where we can observe vicuñas in their natural habitat
  • Patahuasi, where we’ll taste the traditional coca tea, is ideal for acclimatizing to the altitude
  • Toccra Wetlands, home to alpacas, llamas, and various Andean birds
  • Volcano Viewpoint, from where we’ll contemplate the imposing mountain range and the snow-capped Ampato, Sabancaya, and Hualca Hualca peaks

At noon, we’ll arrive at the charming town of Chivay, where we can savor a delicious lunch (not included). Later, we’ll settle into the hotel and have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the area’s relaxing hot springs (optional). In the evening, we’ll enjoy dinner (not included) at a local restaurant while a folkloric show brings the traditional dances of the Colca Valley to life.

Very early in the morning, after breakfast, we’ll head to the famous Cruz del Cóndor Viewpoint, the best observation point for the Colca Canyon. After considerable time there, we’ll board the vehicle again, making stops at various natural viewpoints where we can observe the impressive Inca terraces of the Colca Valley, as well as picturesque villages with their colonial churches. In some localities, it will also be possible to taste typical local drinks (optional).

Around noon, we’ll have lunch (not included) to begin our return to Arequipa. During the journey, we’ll once again enjoy the Andean landscapes and, in the afternoon, we’ll arrive at the Plaza de Armas in Arequipa, thus ending our 2-day Colca Canyon tour.
