Itinerary

Discover what awaits you in the LARES TREK TO MACHU PICCHU TOUR – 4 DAYS

Our Lares Trek to Machu Picchu tour begins with pickup from your hotel in Cusco to head to the Sacred Valley of the Incas to enjoy a nutritious breakfast. Then we depart for the town of Lares, where we’ll have time to relax in its famous Lares thermal waters, a unique experience before beginning the Lares trek.

The hike begins from Cuncani and lasts approximately 2 to 3 hours until we reach Sondor. Along the way, we’ll enjoy lunch surrounded by the Andean mountains and spend time with local families who preserve the textile art using alpaca wool—dinner and overnight at the campsite.

After breakfast, we’ll begin an ascent to Huacahuasi Pass, the highest point of the Lares Trek to Machu Picchu Tour, with spectacular views of snow-capped peaks and lagoons. We’ll continue to Auroray Cocha and Yurac Cocha, where we’ll have lunch surrounded by nature. In the afternoon, we cross a queñua forest until we reach Pucara, where we’ll camp with privileged views of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Our day begins with the hike to Ollantaytambo, considered the last Inca town. We’ll also visit the Pinkulluna sector. Along the way, we can explore communities that maintain their ancestral customs. After these visits, we head to lunch, and after lunch, we’ll board the train to Aguas Calientes, where we’ll have dinner and spend the night at the hotel.

Note: Train time may vary depending on availability (between 12:58 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.).

This day begins at approximately 5:30 a.m. to board the Consettur bus, which will take us to the Machu Picchu Citadel, one of the seven wonders of the World. At Machu Picchu, we’ll have a guided tour of the areas where our guide will provide relevant information about the history, construction, and Inca worldview. Then we’ll have free time to explore on our own before returning by bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch and taking the train to Ollantaytambo, where transportation will await us to return to Cusco.
