Itinerary

Discover what awaits you in the MANU CULTURAL ZONE TOUR – 3 DAYS

Our journey to Manu National Park begins early, with a departure from the city of Cusco. Along the route, we’ll stop at the enigmatic Ninamarca Chullpas, ancient pre-Inca vestiges set amid unique landscapes. Continuing our journey, we’ll arrive at the colonial town of Paucartambo, where we’ll learn about its history, traditions, and distinctive architecture.

Once we finish our visit to Paucartambo, we head toward Acjanaco, the entry point to Manu National Park. From there, we’ll begin our descent into the cloud forest, where we’ll make several stops to observe birds, orchids, and giant ferns. Our main activity will be spotting the cock-of-the-rock, Peru’s national bird, in its natural habitat in the San Pedro area.

At the end of the day, we’ll arrive at our first accommodation, Bambu Lodge, where we’ll enjoy a local dinner and the guide will provide us with an informative talk about the next day’s activities.

In the morning, after a delicious breakfast, we’ll board our vehicle until we reach Puerto de Atalaya, and along the way, we’ll visit the Hummingbird Garden. Once we arrive at the port, we’ll board the boat to navigate for 30 minutes on the Alto Madre de Dios River until we reach Soga de Oro Lodge. On our journey, we’ll appreciate amazing landscapes and enjoy the warm climate of the tropical rainforest.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit Cocha Machuwasi, where we’ll explore and navigate its waters on a wooden rowing raft. Around us, we can see species of birds, insects, monkeys, etc. We’ll return to the lodge in the afternoon and can decide to rest or take a night walk; we’ll spend the night at the lodge.

Early in the morning, we’ll travel by boat for approximately 25 minutes to a parrot clay lick, where we can see different small animals.

After breakfast, we pack our things to return to Cusco and navigate about 30 minutes by boat to the port of Atalaya. Then we board the vehicle to return to Cusco. On the way back, we can take one last walk in the cloud forest to see some animals. The return will take all day, arriving in Cusco in the afternoon.
