Permit to operate the Inca Trail
Operating the Inca Trail takes more than city and GERCETUR licenses: a company also needs a permit from the Ministry of Culture and SERNANP, the authorities that regulate access to the Inca Trail. Getting it requires passing several evaluation processes, and not every agency has one. Sakura Expedition holds this permit.

Important: enter each traveler’s details exactly as they appear on their passport; Inca Trail permits are issued with that information.
With you before and during your trip
Pre-trip briefing
One or two days before your trip, your guide explains everything in detail so you can pack your backpack and clear up any last questions.
Comfortable hotel
On tours with a hotel, we choose comfortable accommodation in Aguas Calientes, a cozy town surrounded by mountains, so you can rest after the hike.
Meals for everyone
We adapt to any diet: vegetarian, vegan or other needs. Just let us know at least one day before your departure.
Free travel bag
We give you a free travel bag for your extra luggage.
If you need a porter to carry your luggage, book one in advance: a porter can carry up to 16 kg for US$ 50, or you can share one with 8 kg for US$ 30.

We carefully select our team and train them continuously. Every year, guides, drivers, porters and office staff take first-aid courses, and we work with clinics that support us at all times.
Oxygen tank on every departure
Our guide always carries an oxygen tank. The route reaches altitudes that can affect some travelers; that is why we are prepared, and it is only used in emergencies.
We care for the environment
We love the Pachamama (Mother Earth) and know how important it is to protect her. Everything we use is reusable or recyclable, and we ask our travelers to hand their waste to us so the trail stays clean.
